Duelling Dragons and other Legends. Saturday 25th March 2pm.

Our professional tour guide will take you around the Ballingdon area of Sudbury. Meet at the Mill Hotel. This walk will explore the area around Ballingdon Bridge, the oldest 0part of Sudbury which started with a Bronze Age settlement in 2000BC. Learn quirky facts such as: How did Noah’s Ark Lane get its name? Why the cat was mummified and which dragon won the fight on Ballingdon Bridge.

Sudbury Silk: England’s Capital. Thursday 2nd March 11am.

Our professional tour guide will take you around the streets of Sudbury which are steeped in ‘silk’ history. Find out why Sudbury can proudly claim to be the silk capital of England and why the silk weavers came to Sudbury. The walk will finish at Vanners Mill shop where there is silk for sale that has been woven in Sudbury.

Beginning on November 25, there will be an Advent Calendar on display with a difference. Churches Together will have an Advent Art Trail displaying art in shops and businesses in Sudbury. Maps of the trail will be available from Sudbury Library, Kingfisher Leisure Centre, No. 72 North Street and Sudbury Town Hall.
